Based in Mumbai, Volte art projects was founded by Tushar Jiwarajka in 2009. Over the last 10 years, it has achieved distinction to be one of the most significant art initiatives in the Indian sub-continent. Today, Volte represents some of the world's most renowned and celebrated artists. While initially functioning like a traditional gallery with a regular exhibitions programme, Volte has moved to creating just a few impactful projects every year, partnering with various spaces, museums and institutions. It has been responsible for bringing William Kentridge, James Turrell, Wim Delvoye, Based Upon and Francesco Clemente to India. It also represents Nalini Malini, Sheba Chhachhi and Ranbir Kaleka who stand among some of the most influential contemporary artists in the country.
